Hey there, this is Federico Masini.

Hey there, this is Federico Masini.

Based in Turin, northern Italy; traveling around.

Epic, mythic, apocalyptic.

Photographer, loves his job.

Big fan of: black metal, cats, Nietzsche, movies with explosions, Jorge Luis Borges, Final Fantasy, William Blake, giant robots, Greek epics, being moderately intense, Kurt Vonnegut, painfully slow films with absolutely no explosions, Aleister Crowley, doing things I thought I couldn’t do with the dedication of an Olympic athlete, accelerationism and assorted distractions.

Founder of Studio Madonna — crafting visuals with devotion.
I’ve been published in Elle, Monocle, VICE, Vanity Fair, Corriere della Sera, NSS Magazine, Senza Futuro, Purple Haze Mag, La Repubblica, La Stampa plus a few places that still smell like print. Also, I published the book “They Return to Their Earth” with SelfSelfBooks, was among the authors of the 2017 book “Mekong: A Contemporary Photography Mission” (Phos), and showed up in Collater.al (2023), and Slowear. Awards include Imagenation at Liquida and a LensCulture Critics’ Choice shortlist. I’ve shown work widely across Italy and Europe with solo and group shows in London, Paris, Milan, Turin and beyond. Personal work lives in the Oltremondo section of this site. On the commercial side: Amaro Montenegro, Maserati, British Airways, CX-Places, Hyatt Hotels, Ferrino, Lanificio Zignone, and more along the way. Pet friendly, human friendly, alien friendly.
